Shinda Foundation is managed by a board of directors who play an important role in governance, vision and implementation of the foundation's mission.
The Founder and CEO, Mr. Kimaro grew up in Kilimanjaro and Arusha, Tanzania where he also attended school during his formative years through high school. Mr. Kimaro’s formative years, were not very different than that of many kids you would encounter in Tanzania, however through education, he was fortunate to receive a scholarship to come to United States in 1999 where he pursued his studies, and holds a, Bachelor of Science degree from San Francisco State University and post graduate degree in MBA from Babson College.
Mr. Kimaro, his late father Pasian Kimaro and family have been actively involved in efforts to support education and opportunities to help the children of Sokon I ward in Arusha, Tanzania also realize their dreams whatever they may be. Through personal sacrifices and perseverance the Kimaro family started Shinda Basic School, which had an enrollment of 200 as of 2012 and has 12 teachers on staff.
His commitment is evident in his passion to continue to support Shinda Basic School, and the community in realizing better opportunities.
